Hello...you..big...beautiful...thing....

Saturday i went with the MaleChild into Boone...
Had to arrange housing for next semester...
After that he took me on a tour of the Appalachian State University campus...
Beautiful place..
But
The "windmill" that was the only thing i took pictures of...
this one powers one of the dorms or a small sports complex..
we weren't sure...

Hummmmm.....

Windmills really fascinate me..!!

Could i get a smaller version of this for the backyard...
Come on guys....!.....one that wouldn't cost me $90,000.00...!!

I'd settle for the $9,000.00 model...

BTW it's very quite....we couldn't hear it turning...
Even with the radio off....!

  2. I think they are wonderful and they are popping up around here too. They maybe expensive, but the wind powering them is free so it's about time we took advantage of them. I don't see one in my backyard ever but they are fascinating.

  3. They had a windmill when I was at ASU, but too many neighbors complained so they had to take it down :(

  4. There is one of these big fellas out on State Route 14 in Palmdale, CA. I have always been fascinated by windmills or anything the wind can blow around. I love kites, wind spinners and wind chimes too.

  5. Amazing, the ones we saw out west, called 'wind farms' are gigantic. One blade on one like you show is over 50 feet long. They amaze me. Some windmills can power 1400 houses.

    Life is great.
