One Jelly Roll....

The goal was to see how many project i could get out of one jelly roll.....

one baby quilt size wall hanging/quilt made from Bonnie Hunters "Scrappy Trips Around the World" pattern..

One 22" x22" wall hanging for the little quilt rack in the hall...

One coffee carpet...

Not Bad..!!

plus i used up some up that stash that's driving me crazy in the sewing room...

plus...plus....it kept me busy...

Don't you think today should be a holiday..?

For those of us that are Daylight Saving Time challenged...

In the words of Jackie Gleason....

"to the Moon...you damn cat...to the Moon!"

Misskitty has developed this bad habit of using my left leg as a scratching post while i'm sitting at the computer writing blog post....ugh!!!

Just as i have a great thought and i'm trying to get it typed on the screen....

Whap.... ! .....the claws latch on to my leg.....i scream.....she runs and laughs....!!

It happens everytime.....unless she's napping...

but....i think she's got some kind'a Cat Radar that tells her when i'm sitting down.....

I can't complain to much....after all this is the only time she pays attention to me...

She's a "daddy's cat"....she gets him up with a "love tap" to the face at 4:30 am for food....hehehehehe!!

On the Lookout.....

Made it into work yesterday by 11:30am....

lots of snow up at the mountain park but very little on my drive...

when i left at 2:00pm had 5 hikers....hiking up the main park road...

which was closed to traffic because of snow and ice

Not me

I work here....i'll go in the summer...

Last Hurrah....

That's what the local weather gurus are calling todays snow storm..

this is what it looks like outside my front door this AM..

you can't see it..but..it's snowing like crazy....

little tiny flakes...with wind gust up to 50 mph...

I didn't take more than 3 steps out the door...

'cause with the wind chill it's about 11.5* out there....

this front is moving fast and is suppose to outta here by noon..

i'm planning on heading into work when it clears a little...

Oops...

the sun just made an appearance..

wonder how long it will stay..?

ps.....i got the worker hired with only one problem...that i caught before i submitted the paperwork...

whewwwwww...!!

pps....i didn't touch up these pictures...that's the color out there...and the sun just left  :(

Everyday is a gift

Uncharted Waters....

...the clouds today are strange...

Is this the beginning of our next big snow storm....

Today's the day...

the day i have to cruise thru uncharted waters...

the day i have to process a system i've never done before...

Today i have to HIRE the seasonal workers....!!

 

I'm a bookkeeper not a HR person..!

I have no idea why this process is giving me the willys...

maybe 'cause i reallllly don't want to make a mistake...

Thank Goodness i've got some great co-workers at other parks that have promised to walk me thru it...!!

I'm thinking of a glass of wine when i get have today...

and i don't drink...!

Yes....i still quilt....

...this is what's on my work table at the moment...

It's only a lap size ...but...it seems to be taking me forever to get it finished....!!

So

Not wanted to wait (and work) on completing the quilting

this past week i made....

a Coffee Carpet...

My coffee pot, for some reason, always dribbles when we're pouring a cup of coffee...

i got tired of wiping off the counters....so the coffee carpet was born....

it's just an orphan 12"square...made with 4 left over charms and some 2.5" strips from the jelly roll i used to make the quilt i'm working on....backing, batting and binding came from the scrap basket...

when it gets cruddy looking...just throw it in the washer...

I'll be adding some more of these to the drawer....along with the mug rugs and the cat mats...

Tooth Fairy...?

Yesterday....during our daily morning snow storm...

CityBoy and i loaded up the canine fur babies and took them to the Vet for a teeth cleaning....

Now i must admit that i have been very slow with getting on board with yearly cleanings for the animals..

But

We've had dental problems before....so...i thought it was necessary

Max & Mia did not...

Mia came home with bright shinny choppers and sweet smelling breath...

Max came home minus two of his molars...they were nasty...

Now..

the big question last night was...

"Does the Tooth Fairy come visit Max?"

and if she does what does she bring...

Bight silver stuff that would jingle in his pocket?

Green folding stuff that he could save for a rainy day?

Or

His favorite doggie treats...?
