Answer...

Yesterday I was asked if the "wooly worm" was a worm or a caterpillar...
Hummmmm?
So I looked it up....

the wooly worm is actually a caterpillar...
it does the usual things every good caterpillar does and then turns into this..
the Isabella Tiger Moth

  2. I knew it was a caterpillar, but like the make "wooly warm" better. Saw one yesterday on my hike on a Nature Trail. They are very net looking.

  3. The transformation is one of the events children love. One of the first things I remember learning in school.
    But I did not know the Wooly Worm was a Caterpillar.

  5. Interesting...I never knew that.
    I keep hearing we will have a mild winter here in Michigan.
    So far we have been above average temps and I love it!
    Seeing a lot of woolies.
