Breaking with Tradition....

...i could not face another turkey or ham...
or mashed potato..
or sweet potato..
or green bean..

So

This year we broke with tradition and had...

Corn Beef and Cabbage..
with braised Yukon gold taters..
carrots and onions...

Yummmmmm..

and the best part...
No
left over ham...!!

We may keep this menu and make it a new tradition....

Life is Good

  1. What? You don't like leftover ham? I have some in the freezer still, to cook beans with. And I haven't had so much of a taste of turkey this month. I did have a little Thanksgiving turkey at my son's, but I'm ready to cook the turkey in my freezer any old time now.

  5. We broke the tradition too. We had lasagna and pizza for Christmas Day. We even broke the condition for Christmas Eve and had Chinese snacks. And like you, I won't go back to turkey for Christmas again. We loved the change. Hope you have a great New year. Hugs

  8. Sounds like a great idea especially for a motor home. We don't have a lot of room for left overs.

Sometimes it just feels good to do something different!!!!!
    Love from down here.

  10. I love ham and that is what we had, but that meal of yours sounds delicious. I guess it really doesn't matter what we have as long as we can share it with family.

  11. How brave to break with tradition and it sounds delicious. I noticed that a lot of my blog buddies had all Mexican dinners or other non-traditional ones. Maybe as a nation are getting out of the rut??
    Leftovers are over rated.
