Slowly...but...Surely...

...we're getting things prepared for winter around the Twelve Acre Wood...
Yesterday was driveway "snow stake" day...
CityBoy and the Brother drove wooden stakes along the curve in the driveway...so..when/if it snows we'll be able to see where the driveway is and not make a little side trip into the ditch...

We made a few side trips the first really bad winter we spent here...
Not much fun...!!
Hence the "snow stakes"

Does this prove the theory that-"your never too old to learn new tricks...?"

Everyday is a Gift

  1. That is a great idea and it's better to be prepared than not. Here in the city we pretty much always know where the driveway is, but you have a different situation there for sure. Hope you have a terrific Tuesday!

  2. We too have yard stakes... drive way markers, markers to show where the well cap is, and another marker will point out the big rocks!!

  3. We use them here also, so we know where to plow. Don't need the snowblower chewing up the lawn.

  5. One of our first trips up NORTH, I kept wondering what some of the uprights were, along the road, THEN I learned, they were TO KEEP FOLKS ON THE ROAD!

Yep good idea, that is if you are in the AREA OF THE WHITE STUFF, thank goodness Wildwood AIN'T. (smile)

  6. That would take away one of my big excused for not going out, "I can't see where the road is". Our hill is so steep that it doesn't make a whole lot of difference if I know where it is or not until I get it cleared. Maybe it won't snow this season!

  7. We don't get enough snow for driveway stakes! Sounds kind of scary!
