Turning 65.....

When I realized that I'd be alone on my birthday I thought I'd check the old bucket list and see if one of the items could be checked off......
Knit a pair of socks..
Perfect...!
Now it's been 40 years since I knitted anything....
sooooo
there's this cute little fiber arts store in town named
-Foxfire Hollow Fiber Arts-
and they give classes - I signed up for the beginner class...
After all it's been 40 years..!
Saturday was cold and rainy.....the best day for a old/new adventure.....an introduction to round needles....bright yellow yarn....sharing stories..
I'm about half way thru my little hat and next week I'll learn to decrease and increase....
I remembered more than I thought I knew....

Once I get this reprogrammed in my head it's on to the sock class....!!

  1. Happy turning 65. You know I tried to learn how to knit and never could get the hang of two needles. So I stuck to crochet. Glad you are enjoying it.

  2. I know you lied about your age so you could retire early, but that's okay.
Knitting amazes me. Mama always said 'tend to your own knitting' but never taught me how. LOL Glad you are getting back into it. Amazing what you 'ain't' forgot!

  3. Knitting is almost a lost art. I'm glad to know that you're in the process of reviving it. Happy 65!

  4. I would have to take a class in order to knit anymore also! I crochet but it has been years since I knit anything...hats, scarfs and even a few mittens:) Have fun relearning!

  10. What a wonderful way to celebrate your birthday. I do remember the basics and have an ongoing project to knit here at my house, but if I wanted to do anything more I'd have to take a class too. Happy belated Birthday !
