OK.....bare with me here.......

...Do you believe in "Signs?"....not those crazy road signs or the ones posted everywhere wanting us to buy their products....
......I mean signs from above.....

Let me explain...

I've been awake for a little over an hour and this is what my mind is doing to me...
  • You have no Christmas Spirit
  • Yes, but we've still got snow on the ground
  • ....but.....the wind is blowing and the temps are on an upward swing
  • You have no Christmas Spirit
  • I know......but i'm working on my Christmas Quilt as quickly as i can
  • You have to go into town today and pay the male child's car insurance
  • Yes...i know that, too....but...the last paycheck is almost gone
  • you've only bought 3 presents
  • I HATE the materialism of the Holiday Season
  • You need to get with the decorations...CityBoy and the Male Child expect them
  • I know......but.....i only have to take them down again
Get the picture.....i was having a "Blue Monday" moment....

Then i found Smiling Sally's Blue Monday blog....
What fun....lots of good advice.....blue pictures....and cartoons, that made me laugh...

and as i was leaving a comment on how much i enjoyed her blog...
This secret word popped up!!

Could this be a "Sign" from above??
Could this be the Maker of all things..??

Telling me to get with the program......put Christ back into Christmas....ignore the material things and just enjoy the Season....??!!

Are you watching for your "sign"........ they sneak-up on ya!!

Enjoy

ps......need a giggle..go to.....SmilingSally.blogspot.com........read the cartonns on the sidebar~~~~

  1. Looking for my sign...and here it is at BlueRidge Boomer, a reminder that the Christmas Spirit is all around us! It's that sparkling white snow, it's that cold crisp breeze, it's the one's that will set around our table tonight! Thanks for reminding me...

  2. I'm not big on holidays but I respect the reason for the season. Like your entry very much. Maybe I'll find a sign soon.

  3. Great Post! I got a sign from my 9 year old son. He told me that while he was walking down the hall at his school, he suddenly heard Christmas Music!! (they play it on the intercoms) He was sooo excitied! He said "Music just started playing Momma! Christmas music! It was magic!!" I caught his excitiment! Since then, everytime I hear Christmas music I think about how wonderful it is to be a kid at Christmas! to stop and think about that sweet baby in the manger sent here for us!! It IS the most wonderful time of the year!!

  10. Those evergreens look beautiful with the snow on them. I think we all get in the dumps at times thinking of all that needs doing before Christmas is actually here. Helen

  11. It's nice that something as simple as a snowfall can change our mood so quickly. It definitely put me in the holiday spirit of things.

  13. When things like that happen (the word verification) I call it a God-Thing. I do believe God talks to us if we just stop and listen. I hope you'll be over your blues soon. Maybe this will help a little. It snowed in Houston on Friday. My husband talked to a lady from House today. He does business with her. He asked if she went home early on Fri and played in the snow. She said, yes, she had and her little boy had a blast! He told his mommy it was like playing inside of a snowglobe. Now i ask you, how cute is that?

  14. I totally believe in signs! And I love it when that type of thing happens. A gentle nudge to remember. And I know what you mean when your mind starts nagging at you and won't let up.
