It's Been 40 Years....

...since CityBoy or I had been to a laundromat...
But, yesterday we made the venture into unknown territory...

When we build this cabin....since there was only the two of us...I decided that a smaller washer and dryer would be all we needed..
Never thought of those king/queen size comforters...
Now...
The dogs and the cat sleep on the beds during the day (and night) and those comforters begin to have a little doggie/kitty odor after awhile...
I used to drop the comforters off at a laundry on my way to work and then pick them up on the way home all nice a clean....
Not Anymore..!!
The laundry went up on price....they are now $20.00 a piece...!!
So we grabbed the soap...a roll of quarters...2 comforters and away we went...
Well...
$8.00 and 1 hour and 15 minutes later we were on our way home with fresh smelling clean comforters...
Not So Bad....We can do this....even at our advanced age...

..Hope is Forever..

  1. I know how you feel. My washer and dryer will hold a extra large load. However, I have one quilt that has too much stuffing in it that won't fit in the washer. I costs me $20 to get it cleaned. I am just too lazy to go to a laundromat to get it cleaned. I am proud of you for going.

  2. Good for you ! I have some things that could use an extra large machine wash too. I just keep putting it off. They can be a life saver and the cost is not bad at all. Thanks for letting us know. The laundromat business be be increasing because of you.

  3. Funny we just ran into the same problem here with the question from my lady, "Is this blanket too big for the little washer?" Yep so we will make the same trip but in 80* weather (smile)
