For Those that Asked.....

Yes.... i made this quilt...
It has a history...

It is the only appliqued quilt i've ever made..
It's one of the few tied quilts i've ever made..
It's the first wall hanging i've ever made..

And here's the real history part...
When my FemaleChild was a teenager she attended a private Christian school.....which had uniforms for school hours and a dress code for school functions....

She soon realized, she could make herself a new outfit from 2 yards of fabric( one yard per skirt and one yard per blouse)......and since JoAnne's Fabric was on the way home and material at that time was reasonable in price....

A new outfit for each occasion....!!

And.... my little Valentines wall hanging is made from the left over materials.....

After all that practice with a sewing machine.....she grew up...got married and had....
THREE BOYS.....!!!

She does quilt.....sooooo...the beat goes on...!!

Life is Good

  1. What a great way to use up all the scraps and then to have a quilt that brings back memories of days gone by.

  2. What a lovely story behind your quilt.....something to cherish forever!

  3. WEll, I personally LOVE the quilt and am very envious of it's beauty! I think you did an awesome job!

  4. What a great way to use up odd bits of material; ~ Love the quilt and the history that goes with it ~ Ally x

  5. What a great story. It does remind me of a quilt mama made for Sherry, using the ribbons from off the flowers on Sherry's mom's grave. It meant so much to her.

As I am sure this reminds you of a dedicated person who 'done it right'. I love heart warming tales, reminds me that not all is gloom and doom in this world, GOOD THINGS have happened.
    Thanks again.
Love coming your way from Florida

  6. How nice that she carries on the tradition!

  7. That quilt is a treasure. Your memories and hers put together. Daughters are wonderful. Hope your Tuesday is a terrific one!

  8. Well, she could make jeans I guess.
What a great recycle with memories.
