Missed it......

Yes......i missed it....!

Yesterday was August 1st....

OMG

It's time to start putting the beads in the jar again.....!!
I can't believe its time ..... so soon....!!

For you new reads.....there is an ole folk tale ..... up here in the high country....
"That for every heavy fog in August....there will be a snow in the winter months"
and to keep tract of your fogs/snows you put in or take out a bead in the jar....

Got that...??

Well......yesterday was August 1st and the fog was soooooo thick i couldn't see the road...

What did i miss..??

The date...!!

Wasn't until i was at work and running reports that i realized "the Date..!"

The first thing i did when i got home was drop a bead in the jar....

Today is bright and sunny..

Whewwww...

Life is Good

ps.........last years fog/snow bead count was only off by one.....not bad.....wonder if i could get the big bucks like the weather gurus....

  1. What a great old wives tale. Wish it were foggy here in Oklahoma. 113 today. I miss fog, and snow and rain and temps below 80.

  2. Can't wait for the next report, that is very good, only off by one? Yep call the TV stations make the big announcement just as soon as you know. We will be so proud to say, "Hey we know her!!!" City Boy will even be giving interviews.

    Love from over here!

  3. I loved seeing how it all worked out last year and will look forward to your bead count again this year. Hopefully there won't be as many as last. It sure was a snowy winter here. I'd like to join you and see how we match up, but here in town we rarely get fog like out in the country. We sure do get the snow though. Hope your Tuesday is a terrific one!

  7. Hi there, We have a tradition here in Colorado and into the midwest-maybe you have it too-that once the cickadas start it is only 6 wks to the first frost. I think that is interesting about the beads in a jar-but we don't get enough fog to try that one.
    Have a great day.

  8. You should put a $20 bill in the jar and that way when it snows, you can take a vacation to somewhere warm! :)
