What's wrong......

....with this picture...??!!
Well...the picture of me taking a self-portrait in the side mirror of the little black truck has nothing to do with today's post...but....we all have this shot ...somewhere....in the archives, so i decided to finally use it....
OK....here's today's confusion....
Charlotte-Mechlenburg 4th graders scored number one in the nation in reading.....yeah!!
Charlotte-Mechlenburg is losing 600 teaching positions, 200 support staff and closing or shortening hours in over half of their libraries......
Can you see my confusion..??
It's sorta like the picture.....things are really backward...
Enjoy

  2. Hope they stay #1. Dear Hubby and I were just talking about that very subject this morning. He is a teacher in Rock Hill. When contracts came out in April, he said it was amazing how fast teachers ran to the main office to sign theirs. In case the school district changed their mind, I suppose.

  3. Sounds like if that school is doing so well they wouldn't be downsizing. I think they are doing that about everywhere. Now the teachers will have more students at the same pay. my daughter signed her contract last week. School secession is over this season today. I don't have a picture in the mirror like that lol. 4. It is a confusion for sure. That is just where our country will be headed if they don't support education. BACKWARD. Strange that somehow they have forgotten that in our youth is our future. Good point there today! Hope your Friday is a good one!

  5. I can understand that, in hard times, cuts have to be made. Seems to me that, in this type of atmosphere, it should be the extraneous stuff, like sports, music and underwater basket weaving that are cut. Not, the core classes that are necessary to prepare children for their future in the world.

  7. Love your photos. We used to live in a cabin in the Appalachians. But it got too lonely. Sure was pretty scenery though. You got a new follower...me. Stop by my place for a tasty slice of pie. http://www.boomerpie.com/

  8. That seems like such a shame!! Here in Georgia, they are voting to lift class number restictions. 38 or more per class!?? Crazy!
