Just when i was all set to watch a Saturday of play-off football....
A Bargain Box of pickling cucumbers appeared at the top of the stairs
Soooooo.....here's how we spent the morning....
Cut those cukes..!!....Cut those cukes...!!
(this should be chanted like your a Steeler's cheerleader)
Push'm down....push'm down....way down in the jars...
(you've got it...now...grab a kitchen towel and pretend it's bright yellow....!!)
And..
Touchdown...!!
Eleven jars of Dill and 7 jars of Bread & Butter....
I keep telling CityBoy that canning is a late summer/fall sport...
I don't think he's listening....!!
Life is Good
You are right. Who would think of canning pickles as a winter project? I know you will enjoy them, but what a surprise. I guess you just have to count your blessings and enjoy! Have a wonderful Monday!
ReplyDeleteI was surprised to find you canning this time of year. But those pickles will be oh, so good!
ReplyDeleteI would have never thought of anyone making pickles this time of the year either. And I have to comment on your work area...what a beautiful one!! Hugs
ReplyDeleteWOW, not only do Mia, Max and Miss Kitty talk (the three M's), but you can cheer as you can. Mama would have liked that.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I ever canned (green beans) went bad. I had no idea what I was doing.
I know you guys will enjoy those later.
Rain here in 'sunny' Florida, but near 60.
Take care and stay warm.

Yum! I bet they will turn out great! Would you mind sharing your recipes? If it's a family secret recipe, I completely understand! :-) I like to compare and try new ones!
ReplyDeleteLife is good....
ReplyDeleteYum! Pickles!
ReplyDeleteJohn would like to come to your house for a pickle.
ReplyDeleteOh what is that cheer? Two bits, four bits six bits, a dollar. All who love pickles stand up and holler.
ReplyDeleteI sense a former cheerleader over the pickle jars.
ReplyDeleteHay, why not in winter. Hope you could hear the game anyway.
Oh you may have missed the game but oh how you are going to enjoy those pickles.......yea for pickles
