Well.....Mom's back and am I ever glad....

Those dogs were driving me crazy.....hunting, sniffing, whining, searching.....making Daddy nervous about their not eating....

Would they listen to me.....when I told them to "chill"....she'll be back...

Nooooooo!!!

And then Lula gave us six puppies....

Too many whining butt dogs around here....

for those who have asked .....the reason there is not a daily post from me is...

For months I have had trouble getting my laptop to remain connected to the internet in the mornings.......!

Seems like between the 7 and 7:30 am, all of my little county is trying to logon...

access is limited and if I miss the window...it's all over till mid-morning.  

Now this said.....CityBoy has no trouble logging on....the computers are within 15 feet of each other..!!

Go Figure...?

Either it's a plot cooked up by CityBoy or my laptop hates me....

 

Lately I've been emailing the pictures to myself at work and come in a few minutes early each day to write my blogs from the office...

You can't keep a blogger down for long..!!

Spring Cometh.....

and so did the Strawberry Truck..!

About this time every year a local farmer makes a run to Florida to pick up a semi load of strawberries....

The local radio station and newspaper run big adds that the Strawberry Truck is coming...

They set up shop in a parking lot...the brothers take the money and they have runners that take your berries to your car...

You buy the berries by the flat....there are 8 boxes in a flat...and a flat cost you $12.00...which comes out to $1.50 a box....

Such a Deal..!!

People line up to buy berries....so you have to get there early....

There's only one Strawberry Truck and when it's sold out...it's over...

The Strawberry Truck cameth.....now it's on to Spring...

Another spring ritual occurred earlier this week....

"the burning of the unused Christmas trees"

This seems to happen in the spring every year....

small piles of unused trees are burned and then the ashes are turned under to use as fertilizer.

there have been little clouds of smoke all over our valley since Monday....

Could Spring be far behind...?

I'm beginning to believe it's on the way or maybe even here....

...all winter...

Well starting late fall....our maintenance men at the park keep a wood burning stove going in the shop bay area...

They man it 24/7 with dead wood collected in the park, keep a tea kettle with water on the top,  cook pinto beans and cornbread on it and it keeps the shop warm....

 

Monday I came to work and there  is no FIRE burning....the tea kettle is empty, the stove is cold and the bay doors were open...

 

I think this maybe another sign of Spring being near....

Black Tie Christmas...

Found this charm pack of material that i couldn't live with out...

all nice rich colors with a gold or silver metallic thread running through it...

Yummmmmm...

Did a little border on the backside...

and

Quality Control approved it...!

The fabric reminded me of the colors you might use for decoration at  Black and Whiter Christmas Ball...

hence the name....

Not sure if this one will go in the gift basket or stay at home...
