Pondering.....

No....i'm not pondering the snow outside today.....

I'm trying to make sense of what i'm hearing on the national...state... and local news.....

Last night our President called for the USA to have the greatest educational system in the world......

However....this AM the state and local news are moaning about budget cuts for our North Carolina schools.....

They're talking in the state capital today about cutting educational programs... starting with Pre-K all the way up to college level doctorates....

In fact the large county south of me, has been told they need to cut $100 million out of next years budget....

OK....!!

My brain just doesn't comprehend how you can drastically cut major programs and still improve our educational system....

Maybe....if i had finished college....i'd understand these issues...

Life is Good

....unless your in Pre-K or college....

  1. It's been the same all over with cuts being made. I do hope that in time we'll see changes being made. I think the President did say it will take time and a lot of hard work. I didn't go to college at all but thankfully my children did. Where there is a will there is a way and I believe that this great nation of ours will find a way. God Bless America.

  2. Well, I know how you feel. Though, they could start by cutting out all of the "underwater basketweaving" classes that kids can take these days. I think that we need to get back to the basics. Kids go to school to prepare themselves for the future. And, the future isn't likely to include a lot of the frou frou that they are getting now.

They also don't need all of the extra-curricular activities that they seem to be required to participate in these days, to get into college. It's getting to the point of the ridiculous when they don't have time to study and do their homework, because they're too busy with the multitudes of clubs and activities they're involved in at school.

  4. I used to watch, read, listen to all the politics I hate to admit it, I've just gotten so cynical about it all. Anymore, jeems like it's just smoke and mirrors on both sides.

  5. I think it comes down to the career politician, he knows if he starts talking cutting funding someone won't like it, and he will lose votes.
Just yesterday I was talking to a guy why said,"If they talk about cutting the VA he is out!!!" Now I am as much Veteran as the next guy, but cuts are gonna have to be somewhere.
Louise has some points, too many things in school are put above education, and it is a shame.
    Sports are bigger than grades!
    Enough, yes life is good.

I am healthy and in love what more do I need! Oh yeah, food, I forgot that!
