......I know the picture only has two....but...all five of last years deer are back!!

The two does and the three fawns seem to have made it through the winter just fine.....

We caught glimpses of them plowing thru the snow and kept feed on hand for them...

If was a hit and miss kind'a deal .... with all the bad weather we had this pass winter..

However.....they came creeping out of the woods Tuesday evening in full force with appetites set on high ....

Charlotte-Mechlenburg 4th graders scored number one in the nation in reading.....yeah!!

Charlotte-Mechlenburg is losing 600 teaching positions, 200 support staff and closing or shortening hours in over half of their libraries......

...this morning looked like the morning in the picture....

Instead we've got rain....rain....and more rain....fog....dampness.....wind and flash flood warnings..

Even the birds are depressed....!!

Speaking of birds....the starlings that built their nest in the rafters of the cabin have hatched....

OMGoodness....there must be twenty of them....!!

Never heard so much twittering!!

Mom and Dad starling are constantly on the hunt for breakfast.....lunch....and dinner....

I love baby birds ....but i'll be glad when these guys leave the nest.....

Ughhhhhh........

This is what i woke up to this morning......ugh....

However....since i've spent the last few days in an allergy-pollen-induced-asmathic haze....
Breathing is find....but i get short of breath very quickly and have no energy........
Got home from the grocery yesterday......plopped on the sofa like a spud and that's where i stayed until bedtime.......ohhhhhhh....i hate when i get like this......it's not me!!

That about sums up my out look at the moment....

Another News Flash.......

....the morning DJ"s are claiming that today is.....

"National Day of Guilt and Remorse"

Sooooo....what better day to post pictures of the container garden..

Yes bloggers.....the Farmer's Almanac...said to wait until after the second weekend in May to plant in the dirt...

OK....we waited until Monday evening and then broke out the gardening equipment...

This year we're trying 10 gallons tubs (icing buckets that i get from the bakery at the local food store) to see if more growing room will produce more veggies....

We've got a zucchini.... a bell pepper.....four tomatoes and i repotted Sarah, the apple tree....They're all in good potting soil.....surrounded by metal cages.... i'm gonn'a give them a dose of Miracle Grow....

And hopefully this year...i won't be feeling the "Guilt and Remorse" of killing off another years worth of plants....

Oh Yeah!!!......did you notice the new cement patio...??!!

It's under the front porch and i LOVE it.......helps keep that wonderful fine-red-turns into mud North Carolina dirt out of the house....

It's true...!.....i heard it on the radio this morning,,,,,and we all know we can believe everything we hear on the radio and TV...!!

Personally....i feel the word..."diet"....should be eliminated from my vocabulary....after all it is a "four letter" word ......like.....cook....work.... and.....worm...!

Well.....i'm rambling cause it's raining and dismal ..... and not much going on....

Got 4 tomatoes....one pepper......and a cucumber....

Hope they are hardy......with brown thumb me as their caretaker.....hummmm....

Maybe i can teach the dogs to turn on the hose and water them....hummmmmm!

I work at a state park...

Yesterday......into the parking lot, drove a van with FL plates...

(anytime i see FL plates i make a point to ask where in FL they are from)

But.....then i noticed the "HAT"....

Is that Jack...?....then i recognized Sherry from all the pictures on his blog...

When they entered the Visitor Center, i immediately asked "where in FL are you from?"

Then i had to ask....."Are you Jack?"

Yes!!..... and this is Sherry and these are our friends, Don & Evelyn.....

Well bloggers it was like old home week.......we all talked and talked and talked....visited and Jack gave my co-worker Barbara and i autographed copies of two of his books...!!

Whoa Mama.!!........two of the greatest couples i've ever had the pleasure of meeting...

They truly love, laugh and enjoy life...!!

The Wait.......

It's a game .....i know it's a game.....

It's the game that Miss Kitty plays everyday..

It's Lost.......

...My quilting mojo.....!!

It's been lost for almost 5 weeks.....yikes!!

Yesterday was the first time ...in forever...i ventured into the sewing room...

OMG!!!!

What a mess......five project scattered around.......books, patterns, and junk laying on my cutting board......sewing machine with the repair tag still attached..... and the cat napping in the middle...

Not a pretty sight!

Well....i fussed and fumed....and cleaned.....and organized.....and actually got 2 blocks done for the two memory quilts that i still need to finish.....Oui...!!

Seems like...since i returned to work.....reading has become my pass time of choice....

maybe it's because i can loose myself in another universe.....

One where there's no hurry to get home and cook dinner....laundry to fit in the hours between fixing dinner and bed.....no problems of top security levels to solve.....no visitors to keep happy.... no phones to answer......no e-mails to return......no information to research....a universe where i have NO responsibilities....

Ever feel like Jack on 24...??

Anyhoo.......time to stop whinning......i love my life ....i really do...!

Just need to find my mojo....!!

....about yesterday...

The high winds and weather conditions, scrambled the signals to the router.....
which knocked the computers off-line....which is where they stayed for most of the day....!!

But....the rain is gone .....the winds have died-down....and the computers are back on-line.....

Which has made the male members of the household verrrryyyyyy happy..

And Yes....!!!

The hummers are back..!!
