Yesterday I was asked if the "wooly worm" was a worm or a caterpillar...
Hummmmm?
So I looked it up....
the wooly worm is actually a caterpillar...
it does the usual things every good caterpillar does and then turns into this..
the Isabella Tiger Moth
..Go For Your Dreams..
Amazingly, I did know that. I too looked it up when we had our Woolly Bear festival here.
ReplyDeleteI knew it was a caterpillar, but like the make "wooly warm" better. Saw one yesterday on my hike on a Nature Trail. They are very net looking.
ReplyDeleteThe transformation is one of the events children love. One of the first things I remember learning in school.
ReplyDeleteBut I did not know the Wooly Worm was a Caterpillar.
I keep seeing them here....some all black. A bad omen for the winter.
ReplyDeleteInteresting...I never knew that.
ReplyDeleteI keep hearing we will have a mild winter here in Michigan.
So far we have been above average temps and I love it!
Seeing a lot of woolies.
