Road Trip....!!

...the female parental unit and i are heading down off the mountain to do some major shopping...

We're headed for the big city.....those big city stores are yodeling little messages in our sleep....

We do this about twice a year....

Got to get a taste of the crowded four/six lane highways...the crowds of people....the noise

and remember why we live in the high country....

I've got all this birthday money to spend....!!!!!

Thankful Thursday...

...Misskitty has been rather down lately....

You see...it's been a little over a month since the MaleChild moved to Boone..

her boy...her play toy ...her human is gone...

She's become more friendly toward CityBoy and myself....

more tolerant of the dogs and goes out less at night...

We no longer call her "Coyote Bait"...

But...

She's thankful the MaleChild comes to visit her almost every Saturday...

He spends "special" time with just her...

He's a good kid...i think we'll keep him...

...i remember...

As do most of you...

You remember where you were and what you were doing on this day eleven years ago..

Although some of that day has faded.here's what i remember most..

...hearing the news of a plane crash on the news driving to work

...gathering around an 8" TV watching the Today show with 30 other people in my department.

...hearing a co-worker say...she had just talked to her son in the second tower and everything seemed to be OK

...hearing her scream when the second tower was hit directly below her sons office..

...the many arms that held her.

I still cry...

...the forecast called for 50-60% chance of rain yesterday...

The Twelve Acre Wood received none....nana....nothing....not a drop...

then at dusk.....this appeared in the sky...
