Like the leaves .... life is changing day by day...
hour by hour and minute by minute...
So far our changes have had positive outcomes...
My surgery, ending my female problem forever was positive..
My interview for the new job went well....keep your fingers crossed...
I reached the magic age and the first Social Security check comes this fall...
The MaleChild moved to Boone, got a part-time job, started his third year at ASU and is doing well..
Changes.....changes....changes....
However there is one change i have not written about...
Outside of family, a few close friends and co-workers, we didn't talk/write about CityBoy's cancer...
He was diagnosed with a small cell cluster of prostate cancer in late June...
We spent July researching the options...
Surgery
Radiation
Do Nothing
We oped for radiation therapy...
Soooooo....
In August he started the 5 day-a-week drive to the Watauga Radiation Clinic in Boone..
The Doctors and staff have been wonderful...
Today is his last of 38 treatments and review with the doctor...
The cancer cells are dead...!!
The doc told him about two weeks ago and these last treatments have been for prevention...
He has done well....his only side effect has been fatigue..
He's been able to continue working and leading an almost normal life style...
Today it's over...!!
Except for the follow-up blood work every six months...
Tonight we'll go for a celebration dinner...
36 years and 38 treatments...
Maybe i should play 36 and 38 in the lotto....!!
Ladies push the men in your life to get a PSA blood test....Men push the women in your life to get a mammogram...
Early detection is the key....
Live in the Moment
Hi, So glad that your female troubles are over and so happy about your hubby's treatment having been effective and done with! You both deserve to celebrate. I would have never suspected you to be social security age. Here in Colorado there is such age discrimination with jobs-I've given up and just enjoying life, albeit tighter, but still.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful day!
