What a Trip....!!

All was well on the drive to Raleigh...
We left around 2pm and arrived in Raleigh about 5:45..
Not bad.....good driving time...

Monday was AOK....long training session...
Even longer session deciding where to go for dinner..
When you are from an area that has limited fine dining ... it's a major decision..

Tuesday....!!!
Woke up to cancelled training and a snow storm that had the Raleigh roads shut down by 7am..
The Raleigh Highway Patrol reported over 2000.. 911 calls and more than 1000 traffic incidents - ranging from a death to sliding off the roads...
the five Mountain Park Ladies stayed put in the hotel until about noon.
then we pulled up the weather website....the DOT website...and the hometown weather websites....and plotted a course for home heading north and then west....
The two cars stayed together and we drove out of the storm within 45minutes... and all was well until we got within 50 miles of home...then we ran into the nasty slushy roads from the snow storm that came thru earlier in the day....
I made it back to the mountain park, after dropping off two other Mountain Park Ladies, by 5pm and home by 5:45......not too bad...

Wednesday I made it into work late but I got there (CityBoy drove me) and work 2.5 hours...
Put in my time and the payroll screen told me I had exceed my weekly hour limit....
Sooooo....I turned to my boss....who was working from the mountain park....and asked if I could take Thursday and Friday off.....
Thank Goodness he said OK 'cause we got 6 inches of more snow last night....
and once again the driveway has disappeared....
today's pictures are of today's new snow

How can i convince the powers that be ..... you can't take the Ladies out of the mountains....!!
They need to bring the training to us....

  1. Okay, I was joking on my last comment about you would be disapointed that the roads out of the mts would be clear, especially around RAleigh.
Glad you had a safe trip BOTH WAYS!

  2. Scary to drive on roads that are hazardous! Such a blessing that you were able to return safely!

  3. Glad you make it safely home and that you are now home where it's is warm and cozy. Travel this time of year is not a good thing for sure. If they want the ladies, they'd better plan on doing it when it's warm and sunny from now on.

  4. Happy to hear you made it home safely. I don't like to travel at this time of year as one never knows what condition the roads will be in.. Enjoy your time off from work.
