Catching Up....

What are those song lyrics?

"It's a new dawn"
"It's a new day"

Yesterday a co-worker reminded me that I had not blogged in MONTHS!!
So I'm back and lets catch up....

CityBoy has really...really retired this time.  He was diagnosed with emphysema several months ago and is learning to deal with inhalers on a daily basis.

My blood sugar went whacky!
My normal fasting sugar jumped up into the 200s.  And my A1c was at 8.2....if you know anything about blood sugar....you know this is not good.  Sooooo..I finally broke down and went to an Endocrinologist.  He and his team have gotten my sugar down and my A1c down to 7.0....still a ways to go but things on the sugar front are better.

We're Empty Nester's  again.
The MaleChild moved to Fayetteville, NC on July 6th.  He has a job teaching Special ED at an  elementary school of the arts.
Should be interesting.

Mikey and I are up to a mile on our daily walk.   He pulls me up the hills and drags me down the hills.  He's a good boy and my biggest dragon.

Other than those few hi lights everything is running smoothly.
the parental units are good....the job is good....the weather is good, just a little hot...
and it's the dawn of a new day......

  2. What a joy to see THIS alert. We have been wondering. You are our info from the NC mts which we love. Good to hear things are smoother NOW. Since I live with an older woman (LOL) I pay attention to all you have to say about the parental house. Very glad to hear they are well. I know there have been a couple 'alerts'.

BUT thanks for the updates. Enjoy the fresh air up that way!
Jack & Sherry up in the PA Dutch country of Lancaster county!

  3. Glad to see you back and congratulation on City Boys retirement. I'm sure he will enjoy not having to go in to work every day. I have been retired almost twenty years and it has been some of the best years of my life.
