...pretty empty field....the one west of the cabin....the one that the deer sleep in at night....the one that Misskitty plays in during the day.....the one where the stray beagles hunt for rabbits...?

By Saturday morning the weather gurus are telling me it will be covered with snow...

Yep

that fluffy p.i.t.a. white stuff should be here...

Don't get me wrong i "love" snow as long as i don't have to get out in it...

Soooo.....on the way home today..the last of the Christmas shopping will get done....i'll replenish the doggie/kitty treats and buy the ingredients for the casserole i plan on taking to Thursday nights staff party, even if the roads are too icy to go....then come home and pray i'll get off the park mountain before the snow gets to blizzard conditions on Friday...

...that's a good word for what the weather was yesterday....

so down to the basement i went...

in search of the Christmas decorations...

there they were right where i stored them last January..

Let's check the list:

outside lights up - check

mantel decorated - check

Christmas tree - check

Cards and stockings hung - check

gifts/gift cards bought and mailed - check

That's it......i'm done!

Did i tell you that one of the stray beagles, that live under my Mom's front porch, had puppies....?

Yep

Four of the little critters...

They'll be ready for adoption the end of January...

Anyone want a pure bred beagle pup....?  No charge....

Guess i did have something after all....hummmmm...

With several Christmas parties in the near future...

i've been working on a few "dirty Santa" gifts..

Todays get together is the Quilters Guild..

we're having a pot holder exchange...

Can't decided which pair to give up..

i'll take them both..

or

maybe i'll take this little mini quilt...hot pad...table topper....big pot holder...

whatever you want'a call it...

All these projects were quick and simple...

churned them out in the one hour aday the fur babies allow me to sew....

They are soooooo demanding...!!

Issues....

Mia is searching....

and Max is thinking....

of a solution to the issues i'm having with my laptop computer...

It will not stay connected to the internet ...!

CityBoy was having the same issues...

soooo

we moved the router from downstairs to upstairs...

reconnected and his works like a charm....

But.....not me...!!

Maybe we need a new router....maybe i've got a bug-a-boo...

I'll let the MaleChild look at over the holidays...then we may be in for a trip to the computer Dr.

If i disappear don't worry..

I'm just having more issues...!!

It Went Well....

...until we got in the car...

Then they let me know how unhappy they were...

Ohhhh....

When i picked them up.....they were sooooooo happy to see me...

lots of barking....wiggles.....kisses....

but 

once in the car......cold shoulder time....

Max is so handsome.....and i now know he has eyes and ears...plus he's got a lot more silver in his coat than i thought...

Mia is bright white....no more dirt orange....and had a pedicure...

she would not hold still for a picture...

They were so pissed....they slept all afternoon...

Confusing Weather....

As you may know we have a 25' flagpole in the front yard.

It was CityBoy's birthday gift to me in 2001...my BD is shortly after 9/11.

It proudly flew our flags in Florida for several years and then when we moved to North Carolina we dug it out of the ground and it rode in CityBoy's truck for the 875 mile trip.

It slides into itself to a manageable 6'.....thank goodness...

Up here in the mountains at the first show of winter high winds or snow....

CityBoy removes the flags and telescopes the pole down for the winter...

But....Looky....looky....

CityBoys putting the flags back up...!!

The weather has been sooooo warm and nice he decided the flags needed to fly...

They're up.....they're flying...

I'm not telling him about the cold front coming in today...

the one with high winds and lots of rain...

 

The fur babies and i are off to the groomer...
