Ugh!!!

Looks like the perfect day to join Mia in a back-to-bed nap....!

However.....today's mission.....if i decide to take it......

is to finish the decorations....

Got the outside lights up yesterday......half of one mantel done......other mantel is still in "Fall" mode.......the trees are out......but still in the boxes.....and i can't decide between the snowman.....Santa....or bear collections!!

Hummmmmm.........how much do i want to clean-up and put away in January...??!!

Oh yeah.......Skiing Santa is still in the master bath....he's been there allllllllll year and may stay there for 2010....

Cookies!!!

Well.....me and the Doughboy!

They came in a box....already mixed...shaped and decorated!!

I only had to do the oven part....

Look.... there's little Christmas Trees and Rudolph!!

Two....count'm two boxes just fell into my shopping cart!!

Plus

I had a coupon for $1.00 off...!!!!

CityBoy and the Male Child are picking at them....not the result...i wanted!!

(Ohhhh Thank you.....you've never made Christmas cookies before!...........sigh)

I'll just tell myself.....they're savoring them!!....and bite off another antler!......Grrrr!!

American Gothic.......revisited....

"Be serious he's taking our picture again"....

Many of you know that the real photographer in this "Little Cabin in the Woods" is the Male Child.
He has one of those "fancy-smancy" cameras that when you hold the button down it just continues to take pictures until you release it..........you know the ones!!

"What was that??!!"

When i posted American Gothic on Tuesday....little did i know it was a series of three.....found the other two pictures last night......thought i'd share...

"Ohhh....he's still clicking away....wonder if he noticed??"

The camera seems to be semi-permanently attached to the Male Child's hand and he seems to always be in the right place at the right time!!

Plus!

The fur babies will do just about anything for him!

You think.... i..... could have gotten these three pictures..!!??

Yesterday morning.......

.....this is the icy result of the last storm that blew thru....

The trees were covered with ice and when the sun hit them...
they sparkled!!

Well here it is......my little made in a moment lap quilt for Christmas...
Let me point out the BIG mistakes .....

I sewed the bottom row on up-side down.......Yikes......did not notice until i hung it up last night!!

There are those pesky zebra and my little trees are laying on their sides!!

They should be standing straight and tall..!!

But horror...of all horrors.....!!

My red blocks and my green blocks are sitting on top of each other......!!....):

Believe me on the design table....they were in perfect OCD order.....

Red....green....red...green....red...green.....you get the picture..

I wanted to name this quilt.....Wonky Wonderful Christmas...

Instead....

...I named it this...

It seemed to fit!

Almost Finished.......

Technically i finished my Christmas Quilt yesterday afternoon.....
but....when taking a second look......i found allllll the little errors that i made in my haste to get it done......

Now being the OCD person that i am....
I could NOT let alll these errors go and just hang and enjoy my new creation....

Sooooo....last night found me using that little tool called a seam ripper......
Ripping away...at the binding, the label and the place where i completely missed stitching...

The biggest mistakes i'll have to live with......ugh!!

Maybe tomorrow...i'll hang it and take some pictures....

Let me explain...

I've been awake for a little over an hour and this is what my mind is doing to me...

• You have no Christmas Spirit
• Yes, but we've still got snow on the ground
• ....but.....the wind is blowing and the temps are on an upward swing

• I know......but i'm working on my Christmas Quilt as quickly as i can
• You have to go into town today and pay the male child's car insurance
• Yes...i know that, too....but...the last paycheck is almost gone

• you've only bought 3 presents
• I HATE the materialism of the Holiday Season
• You need to get with the decorations...CityBoy and the Male Child expect them
• I know......but.....i only have to take them down again

Get the picture.....i was having a "Blue Monday" moment....

Then i found Smiling Sally's Blue Monday blog....
What fun....lots of good advice.....blue pictures....and cartoons, that made me laugh...

and as i was leaving a comment on how much i enjoyed her blog...
This secret word popped up!!

Could this be a "Sign" from above??
Could this be the Maker of all things..??

Telling me to get with the program......put Christ back into Christmas....ignore the material things and just enjoy the Season....??!!
