Did you ever have one of those friends....the kind'a friend ....if you haven't seen or spoken in ....say a year......you can pick up the conversation right where you left off....??
I have one of those kind....and would not trade her for all the lost gold in the Atlantic....
Last night.....after about a year.....we spent an hour and a half on the phone and computer catching-up....!!
As i sat on the front porch....watching the lightening and listening to her read some of her new poems.....i thought to my self ....
"Isn't this Great!!"
She has battled some major health issues and won..!!.....she's back to writing her poetry....!!
We can talk about anything and everything.......depend on each other...no matter how many miles separate us....
We've shared sooo much......jobs......marriages.......motherhood.......sickness.......health......life.....death.....good times .....bad times.....and HOT sauce!!
Thanks for always being there.....MO..!!
Love ya!
Enjoy
Friends like that are rare. I'm glad you cherish her.
ReplyDeleteFriends like that are the best of the best friends!
ReplyDeleteGood friends are a treasure! I have a few like that too and am thankful for them.
ReplyDeletegood friends are treasures for sure...and yes...I do enjoy life in the "fast" lane LOLOL...and glad I can call you friend!!! hugs from Ora in KY
ReplyDeleteI "talked" with her after you did! :)
ReplyDeleteI have one like that who came over to borrow a cup of sugar. After that she moved all over the country and I stayed put but we kept in touch. Now she lives in San Antonio again and with my metro line we can talk when we want.
ReplyDeleteI recently had one I had not seen in about 35 years and ...we did exactly that. I found her on facebook, she drove four hours to see me and spent four days with me...and we never stopped talking...we cried a lot too..both of our precious husbands were dead..and as she said..we are soul friends..forever. The military life can sometimes along with just life in general, cause you to lose one another.
ReplyDeleteWe are back again and never stopped being best friends. Most of my girlfriends I have now had anywhere from 14 to 60 years. Old friends are more precious than gold!
The ones that know you and love you no matter what...
You are absolutely right. That friend, and it is usually one, is worth all the lost gold. They bring life to life and cover it with love.
ReplyDeleteSo true, boomer!
ReplyDeleteJust today, I reconnected with someone that I last spoke with when I was a very young 24 years of age. We're now 47. It was good catching up!
What a blessing to have a friend like that. I can just imagine you sitting on the porch watching the lightening & listening to your friend read her poems......heaven indeed!
