The heat wave is still on and we need RAIN....!!!
(Never thought i'd write that sentence.....)
Everyday....late in the afternoon....it clouds-up....starts to thunder....and i can see the rain on the mountain ridges surrounding the Twelve Acre Wood....
But...so far.....other than a few drops....we've had no RAIN....!
The grass is brown and crispy......the drive is rocky, dry and dusty......we've had the A/C on for a month....the animals are looking for shade.....
Mother Nature could you move that moisture ..... just one mile north.....just for a few days....??!
Enjoy

We have an abundance of rain this week and are willing to send it south...just do your little dance....with this rain as last year the cherries all went mouldy...aargh!
ReplyDeleteBoomer, I know exactly what you mean! Yesterday, I did get excited because it poured down rain for a few minutes. Hubbs said that was not enough and we will need it for days in order to repair the dry grass. The dog days of summer have come early!
ReplyDeleteWhen we were in Nashville a couple of weeks ago, we got a rain shower everyday. The dark clouds rolled in, lightening flashed, thunder boomed and the rain poured....for about 30 minutes. Then it was gone, the heat was on, and the humidity made my hair go flat. It didn't ruin our fun, though, and the rain was probably welcome to the locals. Any rain in the summer is welcome, especially to us in Oklahoma. We get dry and brown about August, which makes autumn very welcome! Hope you get some relief soon.

You are in the mountains and I am on the coast and it does the same thing here. Everyday almost it clouds up and threatens then passes right over. I told my family when it finally rains that I think I will go dance in it.
ReplyDeleteTime for a serious rain-dance!
ReplyDeleteWe have been getting the rain you have been seeing. We will try to send it your way! Farmers need it.
ReplyDeleteLove from Lenoir
So the Boomer gets the Boomers and not the rain! LOL
ReplyDeleteWe've had lots of rain here. Every time it heats up it winds up raining. Today we have a front coming out of Canada making it a cool 70 degrees here. Hope you get some there soon and it gives us a break. Have a terrific Tuesday
ReplyDeletejust rained in my area last night i'll send some down
ReplyDeleteI wish I could send you some of ours. We have had rain something like 23 out of 29 days so far in June, and are over 5 inches.
ReplyDeleteIt's certainly been a season of excesses, in one way or the other, all over the country.
No rain here until about October - November, unless we get a summer storm, in which case I will blog about it for sure. Hope some comes your way soon--Inger
ReplyDeleteWe could do with some rain here ~ it did rain during the night but by daylight the ground was bone dry ~ Ally x
ReplyDeleteIf we had some rain I'd be glad to share it with you. We had a great thunder/lightning show the other night and about a dozen drops of rain.
ReplyDeleteIt finally stopped raining here for a few days. Wish I could have sent you some.
ReplyDeleteKnow how you feel. Out side of mind numbing heat the rains have danced all around.
ReplyDeleteWe get the thunder and lightning, just no rain. Such a cruel tease for the poor grass.
We have had more misses than hits with the rain too! But my view isnt quiet as pretty as yours!!
