We've still got plenty of snow on the ground over here!

Since December 18th .... we've had more of the cold, flaky stuff....than we had alllll of last winter!!

Weather gurus are saying...."maybe 8 inches more tomorrow night" and temps are still in the teens!!

Do i want to go and visit family in south Florida?

A Fashion Award......

CityBoy laughed at my outfit and the reason i was out in the cold......

Hey!.....i had on long thermal underwear.....my "Fight Like A Girl" long sleeve t-shirt....heavy overalls......a fleece lined hoodie.......knit hat......mittens......2 pair of socks......and my rubber fleece lined gardening clogs......

Yah.....i was cold!

But.....since CityBoy has jumped the hurdle into the age of above sixty.....
And i will hit that magical number this year.....

I was worried......about the walk over thick ice and snow.....

getting to the cars was sort'a like walking on a slip-n-slide.........up hill!!

Which could result in a broken hip and/or leg for one or both of us.....

Sooooo........out i went........bundled up with shovel in hand.....

He laughed and told me i was crazy!!

Well...!!....yesterday morning he used my pathway to get to his car!!!!

Grrrrrr.......i think i'll charge him a toll....!!

The snails have arrived.....

Before Christmas the Male Child started the process of setting up a salt water fish tank....

I thought to myself.......

"Get the stuff....fill it with salt water and drop in the fish..."

Oh No.....!

A salt water tank has to be a living ecosystem.......the water has to be chemically correct..... the rock and sand have to be "alive"...... gott'a have the correct water temp and water flow.....and there needs to be "plant life" growing.....

Well.......it's reached the stage where he can start adding living creatures.....

Enter the snails.......give'um a few days to get the tank in tip-top shape and then Male Child can add the "shrimp".....!

It's beautiful and will bring him many hours of pleasure...

CityBoy and i are very proud of his new "Ecosystem"

But....what ever happened to dropping a little gold fish in a bowl...??


Now i'm off to the bank......gott'a rob Peter to pay Paul......for the next three months!!

I love my Birkies.....!!

For many....many.....years due to nerve damage in the ball portion of my right foot i have worn Birkenstocks.......
When i went to the doctor to check out this pain radiating from my toes to my knee....he gave me three choices......surgery(yikes)....custom made insert that i could wear with tennis shoes only(don't think sooo).... or some sort of shoes that would take the pressure off the ball of my foot and support the toes.....

I have clogs.....i have sandals......i have slip-ons.......i have buckles....i have one strap...two strap....three strap......wide straps....narrow straps.....

I have black.....brown......tan.....off-white......several shades of blue....green....yellow.....red.....gray.....and hot pick......

I have flowers....plaids......stripes.....swirls......plain.......patterns.....

I love my Birkies and in the corporate world, they became my trademark......everyone knew the crazy lady that wore those strange shoes....

I was pain free....it was wonderful!!

But.....

Birkies are NOT designed for walking on SNOW and ICE....!!

Yesterday......CityBoy bought me my first pair of real shoes....
I can feel the pain already..
