We went to hear this father and son duo last night.
Dad plays the Hammered Dulcimer and fiddle.
Son plays anything with strings...
Also, one of our local talents played the piano and dulcimer along with them on a few tunes...
Great "old" mountain music and some new stuff composed by the son.
Very informal.....saw a few pair of pressed jeans....
Mom, the SIL, CityBoy and Me.......we had a great time...
Everyday is a Gift
Love that type music.
ReplyDeleteOne of our daughters had someone play the hammered dulcimer at her wedding reception!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun time. I had heard the term 'hammered Docimder' all my life but was in my 60's before I actually saw and heard one. A neat instrument.
ReplyDeleteGood you guys can come off the mountain and enjoy it.
(HUGS) from Michigan
I do love that good old mountain music! I play a lap dulcimer, not a hammered dulcimer like the one you pictured. What great fun! Hope you have a super Saturday!
ReplyDeleteI lost my spell check.... Which is easy to see.(O)
ReplyDeleteLove it...I went to their website and listened to some of their stuff...Used to live in WV and loved the dulcimer/fiddle/mountain music...There is a festival of artisans in Ripley in the summer and it is wonderful..Still have to get to W. Jefferson area for the music stuff there....
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting them...
Love from High Point
