Saturday our little burg closed off a section of Main Street and had an antique show....
I became fascinated with the many quilts on display...
They all "looked" old....
I'm sure some of them were true antiques...
However...
Some looked like they had come from the shelves of a well known discount store...
been soak in a strong tea bath and them drug thru the mud...then left to "age"..!
It made for a great morning of finding the Real and Not so Real...
we're easy to entertain up here in the high country....
Everyday is a Gift
Such gorgeous quilts.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the lesson in antiquing. We love to drive to the high country to see what is happening, when we can.
ReplyDeleteVery soon our folk will head to the mts for the color.
Now - this would be my kind of day!
ReplyDeleteI agree, that would be my kind of day too. I found out that you do have to be careful about quilts. We went to Amish country here shopping one time and found some quilts for sale...thought I'd buy one and then saw a tag that said made in China on it. I wouldn't have known the difference. It even had hand stitching on it. Thankfully I saw the tag. Hope your Monday is off to a great start!
ReplyDeleteI love quilts as well, new or old!
