I've got a two foot high wicker basket of scraps....!
This may be the biggest quilt in history.
Seriously...
I can remember sitting on the front porch in the summer, after supper, cutting up shirts for my grandmother and Aunt Bessie...so that they could made these little hexagons and then when they had enough(?) they would make a quilt called "Grandmother's Garden."
Who would have thought 60 years later.....I'd still be cutting/sewing hexagons...!!
Quilts are forever...!
..Go For Your Dreams..
Good luck. I'm sure it will be beautiful.

ReplyDeleteBut I did enjoy the Hex entry, and it does make a great pattern. My mama never used it, I think. MOre squares and triangles.

ReplyDeleteHope you will share the finished product with us! That is, a picture.:-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way to use scraps and nice to have memories of the past doing the same too. It's going to make a beauty of a quilt for sure. I love the name too. Does so remind me of grandmothers garden.
ReplyDeleteI made one once and hand sewed them together...it is a fun project. I have lots of scraps maybe I will try again. I wore a acrylic pattern out the last time:)
ReplyDeleteI found a free pattern on the internet and just print off copies.....
