CityBoy's headaches seemed to be caused by the "STRESS" of being retired!!!

Who Knew!!??

WE're gonna try some muscle relaxers and more exercise.

Catching Up.....

Well....

the month of January and half of February has slipped by me.

It's beem a farly quite period of time around the Twelve Acre Wood.

The MaleChild made it home for Christmas but left early due to a nasty cold.

The FemaleChild was on call Christmas and delivered 4 babies.

We lost Misskitty on January 9th...she was 15 yeas old and illness was slowly taking her. She's at peace now and swatting all those dogs over the Rainbow Bridge.

CityBoy has developed serve headaches, he got new glasses which have helped some and next week we go to a Neurologist for more testing.

The Parental Units are doing well.

and I'm hanging in there.

The Christmas Zebra quilt is up ....

The Cards have been sent

the shopping is almost done....

Christmas Zebras ...you ask?

Yep!

Back in 2012 when i decided to make a small Christmas quilt for the quilt rack over our bed...In my haste to grab green, red, yellow, and white material.....I grabbed that funky green on the bottom left side, cut it up and made a green and red star......only after i completed the quilt did i notice that the funky green has "Zebras" on it...!!

So...

the Zebras are up and we can let the Holidays begin..!!

Specialist did surgery the next day, on Friday and we had her home on Saturday.

Now

She up to her old tricks!

I thought toddlers were bad....try keeping up with a 89 year old who has a fetish for shopping!!!

She Did It Again!

The Female Parental Unit fell and broke the same wrist she broke three years ago.

She really did a good job this time - all the pins and plates from the previous surgery are KAPUT!

The local ortho doctor sent her directly to a hand/wrist specialist in Boone.

The wrist is repairable it's her age and the question of anesthesia the doctors are working out.

But

to quote the EMT's yesterday

"we're bring in a 89 year old female with a possible broken wrist and she's a Firecracker!!"

Look what the rain brought...

Full Color..!!

Finally Fall...

After almost two months of drought we've had some rain. Which brought out the fall color and the harvesting of the black walnuts.

In the front yard of the office there are several huge black walnuts trees and when the nuts begin to fall, it sounds like rocks hitting the roof and the little critters start storing up for the winter.  So far, this fall we've had no visits to the office by our furry friends. 

 But, they do like to hide under the copy machine!

...i remember...

As do most of you...

You remember where you were and what you were doing on this day eleven years ago..

Although some of that day has faded.here's what i remember most..

...hearing the news of a plane crash on the news driving to work

...gathering around an 8" TV watching the Today show with 30 other people in my department.

...hearing a co-worker say...she had just talked to her son in the second tower and everything seemed to be OK

...hearing her scream when the second tower was hit directly below her sons office..

...the many arms that held her.

It's official .... the names on the door!!

Next Monday the next chapter of the MaleChild's life journey begins.

Not Looking Good

In previous post I've written about the old folk lore tale of the "Beans in a Jar."

Quick reminder...

For every fog in August you put a bean in the jar.  The beans indicate how many snows to expect in the winter months.

I've gathered the flock and decided to let them peck Windows 10 to its death.

Actually these are the turkeys that hang around the park office...

they check on me often.

Gave up on Windows 10 and downloaded Mozilla Firefox...

finally a program i've used for years....

But

Who remembers passwords on accounts setup over 10 years ago.

the memory is good...but...not that good!

Windows 10 is driving me crazy!!

But slowly I'm leaning you can teach an old biddy a new trick....

R.I.P.

My sweet little laptop, Betty, crashed and burned yesterday afternoon.

Her death was not an unexpected event, after all she had been to the emergency computer clinic several times over the past 2 months.

CityBoy shouted.."Let's go get you a new one!"

Whoa.....hold on to your dollar bills a minute.

CityBoy has 4 laptops..yes..count them...4!

Shimp, Larry , Moe and Curly.

I said ..."why don't I just take Curly and use him?"

but..."he has all that crazy stuff of your dad's on it "...CityBoy stuttered.
Take him to the computer clinic and get him cleaned...easy, peasy....

Anyway...
 

 Curly has all new programing, Windows 10 and all the other new gadgets.

Curly is now MINE...now I just need to learn how to use him.
