Shadows Still With Me.....

Turned out the shadow in my right eye are a tiny little hemorrhage caused by a tiny little separation of the tissue in my retina.....
And should go away soon...

However....

The left eye is in worst shape.....
found scar tissue from a retinal tear that occurred sometime in the past....

Who Knew..!!!

Never had a sign or symptom with the left eye...

Anyway..

With my eyes being extremely near-sighted and shaped like eggs......
the retinal tissue is stretched too thin and tears are a thing i have to be on the look-out for....

Oh Yeah..!

Age has something to do with it also....

It was a Fun filled day......loved the new Doc....

Shadows.....

Well ....we are off to see the shadow specialist in Hickory today....

What's a shadow specialist....you ask ....?

Here's what's been going on...

I see shadows in my right eye..

...they've been there since last Friday....
it looks like a shadowy......grayish......spider webby.....mass that moves across my line of vision...

Not much fun...!!

Sometimes when it comes from the right side.....i think someone is standing behind me or walking up to me on that side.....sometimes it blurs my vision.....not fun for driving ....sometimes it's just there off to the side laughing at me....

My local eye doctor could not find anything ....but...was concerned enough to insist that i see a retina specialist ...
....TODAY...!!

As he said...."You don't fool around with retina tears and i think that's what you've got..."

OK...Then..!!

Seems that as we age...some of us, will get small black spots or floaters in our eyes....
These are small pieces of the retina that sluff off and "usually" go away within 24-48 hours and are "usually" nothing to worry about..
I've had this since Friday...
(Happy Birthday from Mother Nature!!)

I've always said ....."Age is an attitude"......but....
It's Hell to get old...!!

You find wasp building their nest up high in a tree....
your gonna have a wet cold winter....

The MaleChild found this one about 20 feet up in one of the hard woods behind the cabin on the Twelve Acre Wood....

Hummmm...

Would twenty feet be considered high in the wasp world....??
Something to ponder and ask the rangers about today....

Yep...Bloggerville...

Once again it was time for the yearly trim of the Twelve Acre Wood...
So out'a the morning mountain mist came the Dillard Brothers...
with all sorts of clanking...squealing...roaring...machines...
And the trim(?) began....

They rush around .....under.....beside.....thru....the Christmas trees....
With lots of laughter.......lots of noise.....and a little bit of time....
there's a nice lawn under all those wild flowers and weeds...

My brain always tells me... the acreage looks like Gibb's haircut from NCIS...
clean and tight around the edges with a little on the top....

Had laid two quilts down on the dresser in the guest room...
intending to put them away ...... eventually...

Found Misskitty giving them a "cat scan" and then taking a long fall nap..

I made...
..Garlic Dill Green Tomatoes...

Saw them on the pickle isle at the grocery store and thought.....

Why Not..?!

So home i came and stripped all the little green 'maters off the dying tomato plants....
and to the kitchen we went....

Used a kind'a made-up recipe and 3 old olive jars and 2 pint size canning jars...
'cause that's what was sitting on the counter..

They look pretty and i hope they taste .......??

I'm not sure how i want them to taste....

Couldn't get close to her......every time we went by her booth.....she was as busy as a bee....
Hope she had a successful show..
She had some "really" great goodies...

....the female parental unit and i are on the way to the Jefferson Quilt Show....
There will be a lot of "Ohhhhhh and Ahhhhhhing" going on...
And maybe a little fabric added to the stash....
Can't just leave all that beautiful fabric with the vendors.....!!

....and truly i haven't turned my back on you.....
I just took an unintentional blogging break....
Did not realize i hadn't blogged until CityBoy brought it to my attention.....

So here's...using bullet points...what's been going on....

• Went to work on Friday.....came home at usual time.....not many campers this time of the year....

• Saturday morning.......sat on front porch and read , while CityBoy mowed the grass at 8AM...

• Gave dogs a bath......they were not happy...and Max is fluffy again....

• Went to the LA LA Festival.....bought pickled squash and apple butter...listened to a little BlueGrass music...
  

• Had the best pizza ever.....at a little restaurant in a little mountain town called Lansing.....if your ever in Lansing don't miss the Combo @ Pie Over the Mountain...

• Lots of front porch sitting....cause the weather is beau-ti-ful.....

• Washing throw rugs and making lemon bars.....

• Doing laundry...

• By the way.....someone harvested (picked) the jeep......it's gone.....hope it was ripe...

You know....

Just the routine stuff...

They're Starting......

All around the county the leaves are starting to change color....

A little early you say....

Ahhhhh....maybe...

But...if my pea size brain remembers correctly....the same happen last year...
The leaves started in September and finally reached full color about the second or third week of October...

right next to the garden that has a Jeep Cherokee parked in the middle of it...
We were wondering what they planted to grow a jeep...??

Six blue bead - 6 heavy snows
Five green beads - 5 light snows

A much better count than last year...

As long as i don't see a black squirrel on the way to work..
we may have a mild to moderate winter season this year....

And maybe we can convince Mother Nature to keep the ice storms way up north in the polar regions.....
