Now She Sleeps.....

The one thing Mia is afraid of is...

Thunder Storms..!!

And last night we had a doosie...

She panted and wiggled..

under the covers....outside the covers...

close to mommy....close to daddy...

down stairs...to sleep with the MaleChild....back up the stairs...

under the covers....outside the covers...

I think CityBoy and i got about 3 hours sleep...

Now i'm going to be cheerful and happy for the in coming campers..

NOT..!!

By the way...

Max slept thru the entire night without a problem...

he's the "good" fur baby....

The Light Bulb in my head came on and i found my pictures and figured out how to download them to this driving me crazy blog...!!

I'm working thru this new format....

i'm finding where i need to go...

It would be easier if i had a really good map or

What a Weekend.....

Here's the Atlanta crew...

#1 grandson (tallest-6'1" and still growing) had his Eagle Scout ceremony and dinner on Saturday night...

#2 grandson qualified for the 4-H State skeet shooting on Saturday morning....

#3 grandson's undefeated baseball team beat the other undefeated team 7-o Friday night....
and he was baptized on Sunday morning.....

Then we raced home and beat the snow by a few hours....
Whew.....
I need a day of rest...!!

...the female parental unit and i are loading up the silver bullet this AM and heading for Atlanta....

The daughter, SNL and the grandkids..

And the oldest gson's Eagle Scout ceremony...

Feeling Good.....

Yep..!!

Mia the Mountain Diva is almost back to normal...
feeling good enough to beat-up on Max..

After our scare on Easter morning..we decided to follow up with the "cute vet"..
Our regular vet...
He also found her lungs to be clear and her heart without the murmur...

Sooooo...

We have been slowly weaning her off of the fluid pills and heart meds....

She's now down to one half of a heart med a day and by the beginning of next week should be med free....

She's feeling Good.....

But

She still snores like a champ!!
And
I watch her like a hawk...

I forgot my daughter's 40th birthday...!!

No....not really..!!

CityBoy was trying to get her on the phone....but...the cell kept telling us we were dialing the wrong number....hummmm...same number we've had programed in the phone for years...

Then i had to cook dinner...

Then i fell asleep while watching "Bones"...

Then i woke up and had to take the dogs out...

Then it was time for "Castle" and to late to call...

So i sent her a face book message this AM

Now the female parental units birthday is Friday and i'm taking her to Atlanta to visit the daughter...does this count as a present for both of them....??

ps kid....the cards in the mail....hahaha!!.....personal joke...

I took yesterday afternoon for some me time...
And
went to the quilt guild meeting..

This Sun Bonnet Sue is for sale...
there are 42 little Sue's ..
No price has been set yet.....but.....there's a lot of work on this quilt...

This was done from a kit...
And was given to the guild's charity stash....

Those are large Prairie Points on the edges..
Don't remember if this one was a gift or was going to the charity stash...
Beautiful...!!

This lovely is a gift for the lady's family in California...
Lucky family!!

There was soooooo much show-n-tell...!!
It was hard to choose just a few for today's post...

I also picked up the quilts for display at the Visitor Center...
They go up today.....can't wait..!!

Reason

Out of the morning mist the "Dillard Brothers" appeared to re do our driveway..

The "Brothers" are good old boys..
But
They like to start work EARLY in the morning...
And they work in their own time frame...you just call... state what you need done and they show up....at some point during the next 2-3 weeks...

Just as i was sipping my coffee and getting started on today's boring dribble..
What should my ears hear...
Machinery crawling up the drive...
I must leave now or be stuck for several hours...

CityBoy hurried outside to engage them in conversation so i could rush off to work...

So

All you get today is a Goggle image and i get a nice smooth driveway...
No more roller coaster ride going down hill....!!

Sunrise Service.....

CityBoy and i attended a very unusual sunrise service this year...

On our way home from the emergency vet clinic in Boone this AM we watched the beginnings of a beautiful sunrise and said a little prayer that our Mia was OK...

About 4:30 this morning she woke us with vomiting...wheezing...moaning and gurgling sounds comeing from her lungs....
And since she has Congestive Heart Failure..we were on the road within minutes...
By the time we drove to Boone and found the Clinic...
(they've moved....by the way)
All her symptoms had disappeared and she was her feisty ole self..
We had her checked anyway just to be on the save side...
Thanked the Doc.....paid the bill...
And counted our blessing on the way home...

Saturday Night.....

that's what we've had in the high country this past week...

The "blinking" sign is gone....
I have nothing to complain about...but...the weather...

The blinking sign was there Friday night and was gone Saturday morning...

Soooooo

Sometime during the night the DOT trolls creeped in and towed it away...

I know there are things that are more annoying than a blinking sign...

But

On foggy mornings and evenings the blinking made the trees surrounding it look like they were on fire....
Not a good thing when your under dry windy conditions....
and live in the middle of a Christmas tree field...

Yikes...!!
