Thanks for all your prayers and well wishes for my grandson.
He was out of surgery by early afternoon and his mom had him out of bed last night.
He's doing sooooo well he may go home tomorrow...

Now it's off to do the Saturday shopping and then watch for the next batch of bad weather heading our way....!!....maybe i'll get a little quilting done this weekend.......maybe!!

Good Morning Monday......

Just a few more dogwoods i caught at the library Saturday morning.....
Had to make a quick stop before the shopping commenced....

"cause i had "NOTHING" to read.....!!!

And i planned to spend most of Sunday sitting on my front porch....

Which i did...

The female parental unit came and sat with me for about 2 hours after lunch...

The best way to spend the day.....!!

Hummmmmmmm....er CPR

Yesterday morning.....sitting at my desk.....minding my own business.....trying to get a little work done.....

WHAP..!!!!

A Hummer had flown into my window and was laying on the sidewalk....

I yelled to Barbara...."a hummer hit the window.....get the camera..!!"
And ran out side......scooped him up

On closer inspection we saw his wings were OK......his feet and legs were OK.....
We thought his neck might be broken....but.....after a few minutes he started to move his head...

But......the little dude was out cold....
He was seeing the cartoon "stars and tweeties whirling around his head"

I cupped him in my hands for about twenty minutes and just when i felt he may not make it....

POOF

He was gone....!!

We saw him later at the feeder.......he must be fine.....he was fussing at the other male hummer....!!

they need to pay us back with barrels of crude...

Even with spell-check.......i couldn't seem to get the word hale/hail in the right context....!! Anyway....there was little rocks of ice falling from the sky.. Today's high temp is gonna be somewhere around 78* and Guess What.....??!! Tomorrow.....late afternoon/evening......"SNOW"....above 4000 ft. Snow i can spell......and there's only one context for snow.... None of this sounds the same....but.....spelled different....!! Life is Good

Yesterday....as the MaleChild and i sat wasting away the afternoon watching old movies.....
The local weather conditions got together and decided to throw a party......

All those little white spots on the ground and falling from the sky are.....

Hale.........Mama Mia......Hale....

It started as a pelting sound on the roof and quickly grew to....

"The Sky is Falling..!!" level....

It lasted about 20 minutes....

The Male Child quickly moved his truck inside the garage and then ran up the stairs for the camera.....

We only got the marble size......south of us got tornado's and baseball size hale....

Never a dull moment up here in the high country....

I Had This Jelly Roll....

....it had been sitting on the stash shelf since the Shop-Hop of 2009.....
Poor Thing....!

So....i said to myself....."Self....you've never made a jelly roll quilt.....What are you waiting for....??"
I searched for a pattern....found a simple one.....and proceeded to cut and sew.....

It wasn't until i'd got the front finished ..... that realized....

It's a Christmas Fabric....!!!

Well.....i wanted a "real" Christmas quilt......and when this is finished....

I'll have two...!!

Plus.....!!

My new "Quilts for Kids" fabric arrived Friday afternoon...

No...April Fooling...

....we had snow yesterday.....

Nothing like the snow north of us.....but....there it was.....
falling outside my window at work....!

It was only small flurries and none of it stuck to the ground....

However......it fell for most of the work day and the look of surprise on the campers faces was priceless....

Typical mountain weather.....the sun was shinning by late afternoon....!!

And we woke up to a dusting on the ground this morning...
