...The Girls only "Road Trip!"
One of my favorite quilt shops, down in Taylorsville, is going out of business... :(
and the entire inventory was reduced from 50% to make me an offer...
sooooo
Off we went....the female parental unit and my SIL Joy...
Beautiful drive thru apple orchard country..
trees were still loaded with apples..
Spent about an hour looking in every nook and cranny and of course we each found at least one thing that had to come home with us...
Then made a quick stop at the "Big City" WalMart in Wilkesboro...
our little town WalMart has the same stuff
but
Big City Walmart has a Dunkin Donut inside....hummmmmm
Then lunch at the Red Lobster and back up the mountain to home...
Just what we needed before the winter sets in tonight....!
Snow, winds and dropping temps starting this afternoon..
Stay Warm...
Everyday is a Gift
So glad you got that trip in while your weather is still nice. We have snow covering the ground here this morning. Very cold too at 29 degrees. BrrrChil!
ReplyDeleteI stepped outside to get pictures this morning. It was very windy out there too. Hope you have a terrific Tuesday!
What a fun trip. I love girls day out. We have not done one for awhile. My daughter was just saying we need one. Guess I better get panning.
ReplyDeleteI love "girls day out". Sounds like fun, especially when you come home with goodies. Love the picture.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a really good excursion to the "big city." Be sure to hold on tight today! Winds are predicted to become very strong where we are. I doubt we see very much snow on our side of the Smokies.
ReplyDeleteGirl's days out are always fun but your sounded special. Glad you beat the weather. My brother in Ohio sent me a pic this AM of their 3 inch snow. He said south of him was a mess. Stay warm and safe.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful road trip; hopefully you came home with lots of new fabrics. We are having cold and damp days, more like Ca. than Colorado, and it chills you to the bone. I'm not looking forward to snow-at least not yet. Have a great afternoon.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Noreen
Loved your road trip, BUT the last part made me happy we finally made it to Florida, albeit North Florida. LOL
ReplyDeleteStay warm....
FUN!!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful countryside.
Sounds like you had a special day, and well deserved! We left the midwest just in time, because temps had dropped to 17 degrees and snow! We hit rain the entire trip home but preferred to ice. No complaints here, lol! Glad you enjoyed yourselves. Cold here in Southern, MD too. I've got beef stock slow cooking and trying to decide what I want to do with it. It will be warm and filling on a cold day!
