Only Because I Promised...............

City Boy is soooo proud of himself.......

First because he brought home "another bargain"....a box of tomatoes and cucumbers....
Second because he got pictures of me canning the bargains..................

Now....i don't consider myself as a photogenic person and prefer to be taking the pictures not "IN " the pictures.....but, he made me promise to put them on the blog......................

So ....... here's me.......little round face......granny-reading glasses....short straight hair.......stained t-shirt.....double chin......canning "stuff" all around me.......Thank the Good Lord....you can't really see the bottom half....it's not pleasant and seems to be spreading like a bad rash....so i just cover that portion with jeans and call it a day.........

Anywayyyyyyyyyyyyy.......this bargain yielded 7 quarts of tomatoes and 5 pints of pickles......maybe someday we'll actually eat them............

  1. I like the way you look. I think there are many of us who are "rounder" than we'd like to be.

  2. You look great. I still can't get over you canning in the wintertime. I always thought of it as something to do in the summer. All those tomatoes and cukes will taste so good later on. Nothing taste so good as home canned. 'On Ya'-ma

If you were making bread and butter pickles I would plead for some. My grandmother always made them but she cant anymore with arthritis.

  8. It's in the jeans or maybe I should say genes because I hate having my picture taken too. Sorry that you are suffering from that horrible tomato allergy and can't eat all those canned tomatoes, guess you will just have to send them to me (along with my tupperware)! =)

  9. Oh how well I remember "Canning" having been brought up in a large family, HUGE gardens, and 6 or 7 thousand canning jars to fill with veggies, meats, fruits, wild game and succotash plus a dug root cellar to fill!!!!
Gave me the shivers thinking about it!!! BUT they were the good old days!!!

  10. I prefer to call it fluffy, LOL. You look like you know what you're doing and you look like someone that is huggable! I like what Donna said, and it is the truth. Blessings to you!

  11. Thank you so much Blue Ridge Boomer. Some of your tomatoes and pickles now grace my pantry, thanks again for the lovely gift. Don't change a thing about you girl, you are special and unique just the way you are. Oh and thank "city boy" for keeping the produce coming in.

  12. Oh, your bad rash brought me a chuckle, because no amount of time at the gym has stopped my rash.

You look happy, content and canning? In winter? How cool is that?
