Not much better......

Yep!!.....today's forecast is not much better than yesterday.......still overcast.....damp......dismal......cold.....

however......there seems to be more color on the trees.......

Today is pumpkins and straw bales day.......

Mom and i are gonn'a load up at the feed store and then the "Pumpkin Lady's"......she sells them in her front yard .....on the honor system........just put your money in the box nailed to the tree.......only in northwest NC....could not do that in FL!!!....you'd come home and find the tree missing.....!

Then it's rush home to decorate the front yards.......out come the scarecrows.......the gourds........the flowers.......the ribbons.......the black cats........

Gosh..... i hope the wind doesn't blow them away this year!!!

Enjoy

  2. That honor system reminds me of the Honey Man in Cades Cove who used it! Our weather is the same but I do like having the windows open!! :)

  5. We are getting more here too. Rain is moving in our way here too. We got one day off. I love decorating for fall. It sure makes everything look bright and cheery even when it is not.
    Have a fun day!

  6. Those trees changing colors are beautiful. I also wish the honor system worked everywhere. There used to be veggie stand close to here in a person's yard. We went by there this summer and nothing was around. Made me feel sad wondering if something had happened to the man who had the garden and kept it up.

  7. We knew a man who sold vegetables on the honor system at a little community south of here. Sadly he passed away a couple of years ago. Isn't it sad all those good things are disappearing. Your decorations are going to be lovely. You will show the picture?

  9. I love that honor system. You may think the weather is gloomy, but oh, would make me want to crawl onto the couch with a cup of tea and a good book. Perhaps why you get more done than me!

Guess I'll go get the Halloween stuff out of the closet.
