Monday.....

Getting back on the road for work after a vacation is the pits!!!

I know that Monday is suppose to be my favorite day of the week....but....some Mondays i question that decision!!??

If God brings you to it

Isn't that a great attitude....i enjoy reading the marquees in front of the local churches.....some of the greatest ideas and/or advice can be found on marquees!

Church marquees are right up there with steeples in my all-time favorite category

Plus...i like to word "marquee"....it's a fun word to say.....

Yep!.......this is the way i'd like to spend this Sunday...but....i've got to catch-up from our misadventures of the last week.....

Let's see.....first i worked 7 straight days..... then spent one day shopping, laundry, cleaning.....then City Boy's birthday......then the whirlwind trip to Atlanta.....then Male Child's birthday....then last nights wedding (Congrats, Tim and Angie) and now it's Sunday!!!

A day of Rest!!??.............Maybe.......

Oh Good!.......Max volunteered to nap for me......What a Guy!!

We're back......

and these two quilts made it to the longarm machine....

With CityBoy and i ... to help pin....we managed to get three quilts done ....using a meandering stipple stitch.....in just over 2 hours......we were going for a longarm speed record!!

Atlanta wasn't as hot as we thought it would be and it has things that we don't have up here in the high country.......like Sam's, BJ's, Costco, Target, Home Depot and "real" shopping malls......

and yeah!!...it has the daughter, SIL and the grandkids!!

As usual ..... i took my camera....but.....forgot to take it out of the car......

Too....much.....to .....do!!!...... and a short time to do it!!!

Anyway....time to get my butt in gear .... run into town...... pay bills....go to the bank.....go to the WalMarts......go to the food store...... then rush back home for the cleaning and laundry!!!

Tomorrow...off to Atlanta......
heard from some blogger friends ...that the temps in Hotlanta have "cooled?" down some.....

Hummmmm(again).....cooled down in Florida is 85*....

I'm taking jeans and "Capri"pants......shorts are staying in the mountains......never to be seen again!

Made driving to work a fun trip.....

Nothing wakes you up faster than cruising down a curvy mountain road and coming face-to-face with another truck on your side of the road!!!

OK....Whew!!! .....

I just have to make it through today and tomorrow .....then City Boy and I are off to Atlanta to visit the daughter's family for a few days ...... or is it Hotlanta???

I'm trying to find some summer clothes in my closet....shorts!!??? If i appeared in those .....it might be as news worthy as Mrs. Obama!!!

Can you wear jeans and staff t-shirts in the Atlanta heat!!??

I've been having very fond memories of last winter and the delightful cold, foggy, snowy days ...

Therapy......

This past Tuesday my parents celebrated their 50something anniversary....

I searched high and low for a picture....but ....they must be in the boxes stored in the basement.....the ones i haven't unpacked yet.....

Sooooo......i just took pictures of the official 50th Anniversary Portrait ......

For their 50th my crazy parental units went to a local amusement park and as you can see had a blast.......my Mom was laughing so hard she had tears in her eyes and Dad was making gogglely eyes which had the crowd watching doubled over with laughter.......

I had to walk away before i disgraced myself with wet pants.....

This is one of the reasons i quilt............it's cheaper than therapy!!!

I'm a little behind.....

....with my daily rambling!!

This is the reason why.....

The day started off with a quick trip to the WalMarts for jar lids.....

Then the male child peeled apples like a gerbil on a wheel......while i chopped, diced and tryed to fit as many mutilated apples into a pot as possible......

Applesauce jars number 1-7 are cooling and
Jars 8-13 are in the canner......

Just 5 loads of laundry....hemming of new cargo pants......and finish my table topper to go......
Whew!!!

ps.....repotted the pepper plant when i had nothing to do ....for about 10 minutes!!

It's Fixed.....

This was my surprise from "City Boy"....he said "he just fell in love with this little pepper plant" and knew it would look great on our table........OK....."City Boy doesn't do this knid'a stuff very often.....what's the real reason??....AWWWWWW....a pepper plant....a "HOT" pepper plant!!!....good to use in hot pickled eggs.......now i know!!

It is cute and very colorful.......i fell in love with it, too.......

This is the table topper i plan to finish this weekend......
Then i'm gonna gift it to the wife of the mountain's lead ranger......her birthday is next Friday and i think she needs this as a "girlie" thing for her house.....

Tough living with a bunch of boys....just ask my female child.......

And this is Max pretending to be a cat.......maybe he thinks that being a cat will save him ......after all .....it was big, large,unrepairable holes in my "love you more than my luggage" sheets!

I can't be mad at him......he's toooooo cute......and he just wanted to snuggle!

The male child fixed the internet for me ......he mumbled something about a router and recognizing and main frame connection.....disappeared into the downstairs office for a few minutes and ....."Viola" it works.....

Grrrrr.....!!

It's Friday.....i was gonna take a look back at this week and tell you about the strange, but wonderful/funny things that happened ....instead of the usual blah, blah, blah week...

However......my internet service would not let me......"CAN NOT CONNECT TO SERVER"....IS THIS SOME KIND'A PLOT?......ever since the storms have moved into the area...the server has gone Ka-Putt!!!

I was gonna tell you about the surprise gift "City Boy" brought home for me......No.....Not another bargain box....

I was gonna tell about the table topper i should finish this weekend and who i'm gonna gift it to......

I was gonna tell you about Max tearing up the sheets on my bed...we're talking rips....large holes......and how he's now trying to be a cat!!.....i loved those sheets more than my luggage (loved that movie)!

Maybe tomorrow will be a better day for the "Server"...

Should i make it cookies and send a Get Well Card??

Found it....!!

For the last two nights i have been trying to see the Perseid meteor showers...

First i was told to watch in the northeast sky just above the horizon.....

then i was told "No" they are in the northwest sky....

And yesterday the male child told me it's to the left of the moon...

Well.....after trying to swivel my head like an owl for two nights...in an effort to find the moon in an overcast mountain sky.....

I FOUND IT..!!....the moon that is...!!

It was in the male child's picture folder, on his computer , under the date 07-29-09

....Anyway... the dogs and i did catch a few meteors racing across the sky late last night...

Amazing!!!

This AM.......

He's at it again......

The male child appeared at the top of the stairs again last night.....

Mumbled that he had gone to the store and looked at the cargo pants and they were OK if i wanted to buy them.......buy them!!! The ones he's wearing is being held together by the double stitching!!!!

Then he proceed to download/upload another batch of his pictures......

I love this little bunny....look at that huge patch of clover he's reclining in!!

Between the bird feeders, the deer feeders, the "stuff" i throw to the groundhogs and the clover our bunnies are feasting at a luxury buffet.....

.......the male child and i are taking the fur babies to the Vet this morning....

It's always a fun trip!!!

Max needs his yearly check-up and Mia has some sort of bump? lump?...don't know what you would call it....on her right front leg.......it doesn't bother her in any way.....but......being the Mom that i am......well,......gotta check it out!!!

Good thing we have that "Wilted" money tree in the back yard.....
Think i'm gonna name that tree "VISA"!!!

ME?!!....there's nothing amazing about me....but, here are a few things that amaze me.....

1. Gods creations......look around ..... look at all the tiny, minuet living-breathing things........those are amazing!

2. The changing of the seasons......how do the plants know when to poke their heads up out of the ground and begin Spring.........how do they know when the temps and sun are just right to start budding and produce fruit, for Summer....how do they know when to stop growing and wilt away for Fall.....how do they know when to begin the Winter sleep......that amazing!

3. How did City Boy and i raise 2 very mature responsible children...that's amazing!

4. The way in which God guided Mom and i to the Twelve Area woods that we now live on and gave us the courage to make the biggest change in our lives.....with so much ease....that's amazing!

5. The fact that i've never lost the need to keep learning new "stuff".....i'm always researching things on the Internet..... last year it was Hummingbirds, waterfalls and Native American Trail Trees......this year ....so far....Underground Railroads and the Native American Legends of the "Little People"...... that's amazing!

6. The unproven fact that animals talk......MINE DO!.....Mia and Max can say more with their eyes than most politicians say in a 2 day filibuster...or six months on the campaign trail!.......isn't that amazing!!

7. Things that make me cry amaze me......i can deal with the everyday issues of life...you know ... living from pay check-to-paycheck....the over due bills....the husband and kids that drive you nuts....the normal stress of being a working wife and mother........but can i handle two young women getting off of a plane and hugging their families or the ending of a good love story or a Disney animal movie or a Hallmark Card........ NO!..... I can't.......they get me every time....!!

Gotta go ....i need a tissue!!...... and i've got one.....that's amazing!!

Home Sweet Home......

After my post yesterday.....in which i told you i had nothing......the noise began...

Coming down the road was a "HUGH" crane and 2 semi's......

The neighbors new house had arrived....
by 9AM when i took the first picture....the first floor was framed and the flooring for the second floor was under way.....

Now....in the second and third picture.....Pug......yep that's his name.....Pug!!
He does alllllll the crane work up here in our little burg.....

Was lifting the rafters for the roof......this was probably about 12:30!!!

By 5PM.....Pug was packing up the crane and heading back down the road....
leaving my neighbors with a brand new house!

I'm sure there is some inside work that needs to be done....

but....the joy of modern technology ......it amazes me!

And can you imagine the stories the kids can tell tomorrow when school starts.....

"Why yes!......Pug and his crane built our house in one day!!"

Interesting subject...but...this little quote is still bouncing around in my head.....

Now i know ..... this was meant to draw the non-believers to the Word...

But....ponder it....

It's a great philosophy for daily living!!

Just last week i was told...."Your too happy....your too positive"....

Another Visit......

Jack & Jill...along with Mama made another visit to the wonderland of our front yard....

One of them seemed to be trying out those "long-spindly" legs.....

And was preforming a series of hops....leaps.....jumps...sharp turns and spins.....with an occasional "splat" when the hoofs missed the ground.......

Mom and sibling were not impressed......interrupted the grazing time!

The male child video taped the action....but....for some reason Blogger will not let me download it for your viewing pleasure....

Guess all those interested...will just have to stop by the cabin ...for ice tea, popcorn and the movie......it's only 1 min 37 sec long and no charge!!!
